UK federation Test Service Provider for REFEDS R&S

This SAML 2.0 test SP has the REFEDS R&S entity category. You can use it to test that your IdPs REFEDS R&S entity category support is working as expected. The privacy policy for this SP is here.

The SAML entityID for this service is https://test.ukfederation.org.uk/entity/research-and-scholarship.

Configure your IdP

Configure your IdP to release attributes based on the entity category attributeName and attributeValue

• attributeName="http://macedir.org/entity-category"
• attributeValue="http://refeds.org/category/research-and-scholarship"

Please do not configure your IdP to release attributes based in the entityID above. Just use the entity category.

Test your IdP

Start a login flow by choosing one of the following session initiators:

• Default DS flow with the Seamless Access Discovery Service and then authenticate at your IdP. You can then check whether your IdP releases attributes appropriately.
  • This session initiator will explicitly use the SAML2 Artifact profile if your IdP is configured to support it
• Default DS flow with the OpenAthens Wayfinder Discovery Service and then authenticate at your IdP. You can then check whether your IdP releases attributes appropriately.
  • This session initiator will explicitly use the SAML2 Artifact profile if your IdP is configured to support it
